INDONESIA - 'Hip Hop for Social Change', the first Radioactive workshop organised by Act Global

Information:

The 6th April, Act Global organised its first Radioactive workshop in Bali, called 'Hip Hop for Social Change'. Aini, one of the responsible of the project said about it ''The project involved young people in Bali expressing their thoughts and opinion about the life they experience in Bali in a creative way through the medium of hip hop. Some of the issues discussed included unemployment, poverty and politics.''

During this workshop they recorded a 2 hour live radio broadcast from FBI Radio in Bali. Aini added ''Act Global Indonesia partnered with the FBI radio station in Bali that already have active listeners who follow their show on a regular basis and are interested in this topic. This show is mainly in Indonesian language, however we do have some interviews in English. The show had a series of interviews about the workshop as well as playing music throughout. The show also gave young people the chance to do some free-style rapping, demonstrating the skills they had learnt during the workshop. One of the guest on the show was GoldVoice, an up-and-coming Rap crews from Bali. They gave a session to the young people, sharing tools and technique of rapping and also played some of their tracks live."
